The Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum sits on the old Polo Grounds in central Accra, where Ghana's independence was declared in 1957. The mausoleum holds Dr Nkrumah's remains; the surrounding memorial park includes statues, fountains, and a museum of his life and pan-African legacy.
